Each cigar is wrapped in Cameroon leaf. The cigars are balanced and elegant, with a much more mellow taste profile than the Fuente Fuente OpusX. They are notoriously slow starters. Often the first half inch or so can be rough before the blend warms up.
The line once had only a few sizes, but has been expanded in recent years with longer, fatter sizes (the Presidente and Double Robusto) as well as the lovely Belicoso size. (The Lancero size, which is made in extremely limited quantities and available only as part of the Don Carlos sampler pack, is not included in this rating.)

The Fuente Don Carlos Belicoso is very good-looking torpedo, that got an outstanding 92 POINTS, with a chocolate-brown wrapper. Well-balanced notes of coffee, cedar and earth come through before a toasty finish.
