Carlos Torano

In 1916 Carlos Torano began dealing tobacco leaves in Cuba and later would become a tobacco magnate, running factories and farms throughout Cuba. Subsequent to fleeing Cuba after the Nationalization of the tobacco industry, Carlos Torano formed another cigar empire that would carry on four generations later to this today.

Currently the Torano empire has plants and operations in all of the main cigar creating countries in Central America.

Not only do the Torano family make some of the best known blends for themselves, but the Carlos Torano’s also produce cigars for other celebrated cigar manufacturers such as Alec Bradley, CAO, and Gurkha.
