The Macanudo Robust is one of the newer Macanudo cigars extensions that expanded into the premium cigar market to appeal to smokers that want a little bit more taste and body. As the name implies, this more robust Macanudo is medium bodied with a rich full taste.
The latest edition of this Macanudo Robust debuted in 2003, and is set apart from its natural or Café counterpart by its piloto cubano (Cuban seed) binder that is grown in the Connecticut River Valley, lending to its fuller taste.
These Macanudo cigars are then finished with a darker Connecticut wrapper that gets its color from further maturing and maturation.
The Macanudo Robust has the same great Macanudo consistency, but with more taste.
